The 2026 spring career fair and professional engagement activities, put on by CS|Source, the Department of Computer Science industry relations program, will be held on Monday, February 9 in the Commonwealth Ballroom, Squires Student Center. Onsite registration is required for admission. You must bring your Virginia Tech student ID to the event to register.

Details to follow as they become available.

** Note: Due to increasing demand, registration is open only to computer science undergraduate majors and minors and graduate students.

Prepare before the fair

Update your resume and upload it to the CS JobHub. It is also a good idea to update your resume in Handshake.

Review the list of companies that have registered for career fair. Due to high student attendance, it may not be possible to speak to representatives from all companies at the fair. We recommend that you prioritize those companies you most want to meet with.

Interview day - TBD
By employer invitation only at Smith Career Center and Torgersen Hall.

  • Research employers. Recruiters are impressed with students who have done their homework and know something about their company. Visit employer websites and check for any recent news articles. One of the top complaints from recruiters is a student who walks up and says: "What does your company do?"
  • Update your resume. Ask your department advisor or Career and Professional Development to review it with you. Remember to take your resume to each event you attend.
  • Prepare your elevator pitch. Ask your advisor or Career and Professional Development for advice.
  • Dress in American business professional style to make a good first impression.
  • Practice active listening.
  • Ask questions. Take a prepared list.
  • Expect to apply online. A recruiter may ask you to apply online to be officially considered for an interview. That's standard procedure, but your in-person contact with them is still important.
