Our region

Our main campus is located in Blacksburg, Virginia, in a region consistently ranked among the country's best places to live (see some recent regional recognitions: 2021, 2022).  Blacksburg sits on a plateau between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains in Montgomery County, which is part of the New River Valley. Our region is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the United States and offers a wealth of outdoor recreation, cultural experiences, and family-friendly activities.
