Virginia Tech is a large, comprehensive, public land-grant university, committed to teaching, research, and outreach to the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the world. Our award-winning InclusiveVT program leads efforts to enhance community, diversity, and excellence, in the spirit of  the university's motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).

Additional information about the university and the benefits of working at Virginia Tech are available here.

Our main campus is in Blacksburg, VA, in a region consistently ranked among the country's best places to live (see some recent regional recognitions: 2021, 2022).  Blacksburg is in Montgomery County, which is part of the New River Valley and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.  These videos illustrate the beauty of our region and explain why we like to spend time outdoors:

Our programs in the Washington, D.C., area are currently located in outstanding facilities in Falls Church and Arlington, VA, and will soon expand rapidly into the new Innovation Campus, which is under construction in Alexandria, VA.  These programs and facilities offer faculty and graduate students access to the many unique opportunities and rich cultural life of the DC area.
The Duck Pond is one of the most popular sites at Virginia Tech, with its serene waters, roaming waterfowl, and thick, shady trees.
