A summer internship to remember

Computer science student Manisha Kusuma, Class of 2021, in front of the Microsoft sign.
Manisha Kusuma ('21) interned this summer as a software engineering with Microsoft. She worked on the Windows Shell User Experience team where she did prototyping and developing on a new feature for a future Windows update.

Computer science students--both undergraduate and graduates from the Department of Computer Science and the Sanghani Center for  Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics --landed some premiere internships with companies across the globe. While some interned in a physical office setting, others worked remotely for companies, labs, and programs.

Seniors James Kim and Saylee Marulkar both received their internships as a result of the CS|Source career fair sponsored by the Department of Computer Science. Kim served as a software engineering intern with Verizon, where he enhanced the front-end UI of Verizon’s product website to increase revenue for interstitial accessories sales.

Marulkar did her summer internship as a SW DevOps intern with Viavi Fiber, where she handled and maintained Jenkins - a continuous integration and deployment tool. She also was a member of the quality assurance team to work on automated testing for the company's software products.

Students not only gained real-world experience from internships and other opportunities but, in many cases, they were also able to advance their own research interests.
