Did Someone Say, "We're Hiring!"
Calling all computer science Hokies to bring their A-game to the CS|Source career fair
September 6, 2022
More than 40 companies will be participating in the in-person CS|Source fall career fair on Monday, September 12 from 12:30-5:30 pm in the Commonwealth Ballroom, located in Squires Student Center (290 College Avenue).
Last year, support from the CS|Source participating companies provided more than $100,000 in scholarship support to 50 Virginia Tech computer science students.
This event is open to all computer science majors and minors, as well as computational model and data analytics students.
There are nine featured company stakeholders; highlighted below, who are at the highest membership tier of CS|Source. These companies work with students all throughout the year to fortify department-industry partnerships, including tech/information sessions, coding challenges, hackathons, speaking at student groups, and participating in mentoring programs.
There will be several events leading up to the career fair, including a virtual resume workshop with a computer science alumni on September 1 at 6pm, as well as a mock career fair on September 8 from 1-4 pm in Torgersen Hall. RSVPs will be required for the mock career fair due to limited space. Individual companies will be holding information/tech sessions as well as coffee chats.
Two locations are now available for students to upload their resumes, including Handshake, Virginia Tech's system for resumes, job postings, and events. The second, CS|Source Resumes, is exclusive to CS|Source employers. This system began as a student project within the Department of Computer Science and progressed to new system that employers can search for computer science resumes.
A full list of activities can be found on the CS|Source 'For Students' page.
